Euler Innovations’ Approach to Customer Discovery
With guidance from our mentor at the Innovation Commercialization Assistance Program (ICAP) in the United States, Euler Innovations conducted an extensive Customer Discovery process. Our team interviewed over 90 individuals from Virginia and various international locations. This research aimed to validate multiple hypotheses related to travel planning and the overall travel experience.
How the Process Works
The Customer Discovery process began with identifying key assumptions about our target market. These assumptions were then translated into hypotheses that could be tested through direct interaction with potential customers. By conducting interviews and gathering qualitative data, we were able to explore whether these assumptions held true in real-world scenarios.
The insights gained from this research provided a clear understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the travel industry. It became evident that travelers value personalized recommendations, reliable information, and unique experiences. This knowledge allowed us to pivot and adjust our product development strategies to better align with market needs.
Outcomes and Next Steps
The outcomes of our Customer Discovery process have been instrumental in shaping the direction of our project. We identified critical needs in the market, particularly for Short-Term Rentals (STRs) and hotels. These insights include the growing importance of differentiation in a competitive landscape, the need for enhanced guest experiences, and the demand for efficient operations and customer loyalty strategies.
As we move forward, the rich data from our Customer Discovery will continue to guide our decisions, ensuring that our solutions are well-targeted and effective. This process has provided us with a solid foundation to refine our product offerings and business model.
